Looking to play some Volleyball at Newcastle University? Look no further!

Who are we?

Newcastle University Volleyball Club is a medium sized club open to all students of Newcastle University. We currently have a Men’s, Women’s and Mixed team who all compete in a variety of tournaments and leagues throughout the year.

Men's Team

The men’s team have recently secured promotion back into the 2^nd Division of the Northern Conference in BUCS. Captained by Ahmad Al-Shafai, they look forward to some harder competition next year against other university teams as well as competing in the Men’s Premier League and Local League in Newcastle.

Women’s Team

The women’s team are back in the top flight of BUCS volleyball in the Northern Conference. Led this year by Lucia Cilloni they will compete against some of the best university teams in the North of the Country. The girl’s team also play in the Local League in Newcastle which they have comfortably won for the past couple of years.

Mixed Team

The mixed team are a team constantly improving and hope to be title contenders for the local league this year. Coming from players who mainly play volleyball for recreation, this is a very good experience for those just picking up the game as well as those wanting to add a little bit of competitive fun to learning a new sport.

All three teams did well last year and we hope to continue our successes into the coming year. So what are YOU waiting for? Join in, we have training 2-3 times a week and fairly regular social events such as nights out on the town, dinner as well as days at the beach playing beach volleyball.
